Another Old Fashion English House in the Background

This again is an Angelfire picture. If you look up doll houses on the net you will find many models based on old fashion English houses, particularly when you use the search words "English Doll Houses". I did the experiment of using a different language other than English and never got very good results. Is there a particular reason why England seems to produce more doll houses? I have no answer to give. It may just be an interner thing. I know that the Japanese also adore making small models of Japanese buildings old and new. Perhaps the language is a barrier for the English speaking world to have access to their art. Although it is possible for Japanese people to writer their language in our alphabet, I expect they don't feel many non-Japanese would make the effort to learn it. It is to bad though. While looking at books concerning traveling in Japan I have seen some nice minature models of traditional homes and temples. The Japanese are also well know for doll making. I'm sure they have their own version of a Faery doll. If I manage to get to Japan in 2011 has I would like, I hope to see some.

Dulcie The Disney Fairy Greets Friends at The Front Door

This is the "Disney Fairy" named Dulcie. She is a cooking Faery. I put her in front of the door that made sure opens like a regular door. My cheap digital camera made her somewhat blurry here. I seem to have better results for pictures taken on things with small features with an olf fashion film camera. However I don't have access to a scan often to get them up onto this week sight. Anyway you can still see the cooking hat on Dulcie's head as well as her red oven mit on her hand.

Ogilvy's Department Store During The Holiday Season.

Oglivy's department store was started in 1866 and has been at its current location since 1908. It is one of Montreal's oldest department store. Many people find it pricy including myself, so I don't go in there often. Every December they put out on display a minature human-like animal village in one of their display windows. There was a village they put on for many years but I think it broke down for the pictures I took this year with my digital camera are not the same as the one I took with a film camera two years before. I will be using the older version when I write about the display in my novel since I will be referring to 1988. I would have put the pictures of the older village up however I am not able to scan those pictures at this point in time. The more recent village still gives the general idea of the Oglivy traditon. It still has old fashion houses and animals that behave like humans. I am including the Oglivy tradition in my novel because I think the minature village would be an interresting place for a ten centimetre Faery to visit, invisible to humans. The homes are similar to doll houses. If you look at the structure of the minature house roofs' you will notice a similarity between them at the background house picture. It is interresting to note that whenever minatures are build, whether a single house or village, every often old fashion ideas are used. It could be a sign of human nostalgia.

The Mechanics of The Minature Village.

Here we see a merry-go-round of animals representing the movement of live stock. It is strange that the same animals came both be regular beast of burden or food stock, at the same time they came be the human-like ones all in the same village. I remember the older village Oglivy had, there were regular frogs sitting on the pond as a regular frog would, while dressed up ones would sit in on logs in human fashion ice fishing. I thought that this contradiction could be explained as some magic spell making some animals evolve differently than others.
